Product Catalog Management
Product Category | The product catalog, managed in the Store Administrator will allow an unlimited number of categories (e.g. bats, balls, pads, shoes, etc) for each product line (e.g. cricket, rugby, etc) Each product category will have it’s own set of attributes, e.g. size and width for shoes. Each product category can have up to a maximum of 5 attributes. Furthermore each attribute will have it’s own set of valid values. |
Products | The product catalog can have an unlimited number of products. Each product will be assigned to a product category. A sub-set of the attribute values assigned to the product category can be selected for a particular product (for e.g. there can be 20 valid shoe sizes but only 5 pertain to a particular product). Optionally products can be selected as not being sold at a particular point in time and will not display on the store front pages. |
Product Search | The search functionality will a full text search, powered by Jakarta Lucene, on all product attributes, whether or not they are displayed in the system. |
Image Manager | The asset manager will allows you to add, delete, categorize, and preview images, documents, or any other files that will be associated with the product catalog. |
Product Taxation | Taxation can be specified by Product Category i.e. whether or not the category is taxable. |
Product Import | Product data can be imported using an Import Manager from Fixed Length, CSV or Tab-Delimited files. |
Featured Products | Any product can be marked as a featured product with where to display option(s). This can be used to display the list of featured products on either the category or storefront homepage. |
Hot Deal Product | Any product can be marked as a hot deal product with a where to display option(s). This can be used to display the product on special sections of the home page and/or category pages. |
Inventory
Inventory Import | Product inventory can be imported using an Import Manager from Fixed Length, CSV or Tab-Delimited files. |
Merchandising
Promotions and Pricing | Discounts can be applied to categories, products and order sub-totals. Discounts have a start and end date and can be set as a ($) amount or (%) percentage discount. Promotions can be displayed on the storefront home page or product category pages so as to attract attention and entice buying. |
Coupons | Coupons can be created as promotions that are emailed. A user would then be required to enter the coupon code on the checkout page. |
Cross-Selling/Up-selling | Products can have an unlimited number of other products assigned to them as cross selling or up-selling items and will be displayed in the respective sections for the product page on the storefront. |
Order Management
Order Cancellation | Orders can be cancelled by the CSR. |
Order Modification | Orders can be modified by the CSR. |
Ship to Alternate Address | CSR’s can modify the address an order is shipped to. |
Bill to Alternate Address | CSR’s can modify the bill to for an order. |

Event Based Email Notifications | Notifications can be sent out on account creation, order submission and shipment. |
Storefront Features and User Experience
Shopping Cart | Customers can select product attributes in the shopping cart before placing the order. The shopping cart will display all products and charges (sales, tax and shipping) along with coupon codes (for discounts). The shopping cart will allow the selection of a shipping method and the shipping charge will be based on the shipping method and package weight (each product will be assigned a product weight and we will be uploading the UPS shipping table onto the system). International packages will not be assigned a shipping charge which will be entered by the CSR before shipping the order. |
Create Account | Customers can choose to create an account by simply adding a password where prompted on the orders page. This will allow the customer to view order statuses and history as well as sign in quicker and easier to place subsequent orders. An account will also be required for saved shopping carts. |
View Order History | Under account management, customers can view all previous orders placed on their account. The customer can select all, open or recently completed orders and the orders will be sorted by date with the latest showing on top which will further allow the customer to determine the tracking number. |
Change Email/Password | The customer with an account can change their email address or password. |
Add Billing/Shipping Addresses | Customers can have unlimited billing/shipping addresses which can be chosen during the checkout process. |
Manage Addresses | The address manager will allow customers to add/modify/delete addresses associated with their account. |
Other
Data Purge | Orders can be purged based on a given date range. |
Credit Card Processing | Real time processing. |
