• +happy +(dog or cat) gets all pages which contain the word happy and dog OR cat
• happy AND (dog OR cat) - same as above
• "happy dog" get all pages that contain the exact term happy dog
• +(apple "steve jobs") -(banana orange pear) get pages containing apple and the term steve jobs and not containing the words banana, orange, pear
• active* get pages containing words like activate, actively.
